It isn't what you think.

As some of you know, I have a Schwinn Town n' Country Triplet that my father and I trash picked when I was a youngster about 25 years ago. It's lived in my parent's garage ever since and hasn't been ridden since I left for college in about 1993. Anyway, I never had room for it and the bike was in a holding pattern...until my parents decided to sell the home and move into a condo a few months back. I talked to my wife and we decided we didn't have room for the bike. With tears in my eyes, I made some attempts at selling or trading it.

I had several offers...some quite attractive...but the ultimate thing was that last night...while cleaning the bike up for a buyer today...my wife saw the tears in my eyes and she decided we'd figure something out. After much discussion, we're using a room that has been pretty much empty, and was eventually going to be a kid room...to store the bike. It's a straight shot up one flight of thick stairs and we'll put it on some hooks.

I've gotten my grail by not having to get rid of it!

PS...now come the tough questions. To modernize or not to modernize? The bike has substantial surface rust and I'm thinking powdercoat or repaint, some basic but more modern parts (Shimano/Suntour friction kinda' stuff) with some things brazed onto the frame.

PPS - all C and V members are welcome and encouraged to come by and ride with me. This thing would be a BLAST to take up Kelly Drive.
