I've put the Atala on a Hollywood rack from Freecycle on a couple of occasions. The padding on the rack reacts chemically with the lacquer, which I'm very much not a fan of. I might try covering the padding with cheap cotton bar tape...
I try to break it down and toss it into the back seat whenever possible. It just barely fails to fit in the trunk.
