Another tough thing to cut through with a hole saw is Aluminum -but for a different reason. It tends to load up on the cutting surface and block off the teeth from contacting. I hate aluminum and hole saws. If I have to drill a larger hole for a 1/2" -1" conduit I just hit it with a small drill bit and then attack it with a uni-bit. Even then the thing tends to load up but it's not so hard to clean it out and it tends to self clean as it steps down through the sizes.
If I'm punching a larger hole I use the above technique until I can get the Greenlee KO punch into it and just let the slugbuster cups do the work.
Carry a bit of paraffin wax or spray WD-40 to keep the cutter clean when doing aluminum.
I think Ti coating is Titanium nitride. likely spelled some other way however but that is super gold colored. the electroless nickle is more like this frame. Seeing the welds I am sure it is more carbon than chromium.
Friends, It's all about feeds and speeds when it comes to cutting metal. stainless loves low speeds and very aggressive feed rates.
