I find that I can often recall specific thoughts thunk at specific segments of my routes, sometimes even years later.
On the other side of the coin, I hear certain songs now and associate them with specific places on a ride, including weather conditions and a particular scent in the air--pine needles, blooming shrubs, cold air.
