not a ripoff from what i've found - i think you just benefitted from timing.

for those with powdercoating needs in SF - i've had 2 frames done. the best deal i found is in south city at NRI. 2 years ago they were offering frame for $90, $110 for frame&fork (stripping included).

A1-Underground, in the old creamery building at 20th(19th?)/valencia quoted $125 for frame, $150 w/ fork, but agreed to match NRI's price of $90 when i haggled.

The powder coating company just threw it in with some patio chairs that they were already booked to do and I gave the guy 25 bucks cash. Look in the yellow pages and you will find someone to do it for way less than 75$USD I bet.
