In The State of Forida. I ran the 2-mile in H.S. pr of 9:27. After High school I had a chance to run at a bunch of big colleges, but I had signed up for the army reserves my junior year in H.s. some delayed entry thing! I went and became a combat medic and when I returned from training I Took my EMT certificate and went and challenged the state test. then took emt-p (paramedic ) then fire academy. Got a job as a fire-medic. During that time I ran as a unattached runner, went to some big meets ran, also ran some road races. Then 1 day just gave it up. As fast as 14:58 was for 5k I could go out and challenge for the win on road races but against the big boys on the track I couldnt compete with guys running in the 13:00 and low 14:00s. sit around for 10 years and have now decided to to try to race bikes. Its so much more fun on bikes. wow. I wish I would have started in H.S.
