It has become so annoying that I have considered going back to a stock config...but I would really, really miss the drop bars.
Why can't you use drop bars with a single chainring?
Re: Jockey wheel dropout interference: Which rear derailleur are you using? I've used 3 different types and never had this issue. I'm assuming you've played with the chain-gap adjustment screw...
