Judges are often more reasonable than cops.
In my experience, the judge will ALWAYS rule on the side of the cop. Not biotching about it, just making an observation. I will admit that all of my experience in this arena is with motor vehicle violations...so far I've never been ticketed for my bicycicular stupidity.
