I had not thought of reverting to a single chainring. It is a 105 derailleur. As for the b-screw, it is as far in as it will go but I suppose I could try a longer screw. Shortening the chain was suggested but dens to make the problem worse...longer chains work better (but skip) . Maybe I will take some pictures and post, thanks again to the tips!
