Ride faster, ticks are pretty slow.
Considering the number of hours I spend in the woods between turkey, partridge, and deer I've only been treated for Lyme once after the bullseye rash showed up. They didn't even test, just gave me the antibiotics. Never got one on a bike though.
A couple people I know had it and went untreated and it was not pretty.
