Bikes: 2013 Ridley X-BOW

There's only one LBS that is 20 miles away. The rest are 80+. At first I thought the shop was just ignoring me because I don't know anything and they probably didn't think I was serious about buying a bike. When I bought the bike, they just sent me on my way. There was no way for them to know I truly don't know anything. Just getting on the bike took effort for me. I kept coming in for this or that as I've learned a few things and they have warmed up tremendously in the past couple of weeks.

When I bought my second bike last weekend, they knew me better and what I was looking for making things that much easier. The guy explained the fine details of fitting, and why I was having some of my problems with my mountain bike. He adjusted my seat and when I told him it was hard to get on if it was that high, he helped me lean the bike further to get on. Once I was on and understood why the seat needed to be that high, the bike fit so much better.

The first guy that sold me my mountain bike is really the mechanic. The second guy that sold me the Sirrus spent forever with me making sure everything fit just perfectly. It's amazing what some fine adjustments can do. You can really tell when someone loves what they do and these two love it.

Give the shop another chance. If you still have a bad experience, don't go back. I tried out a few shops in the Lincoln area and realized the one 20 miles away knows more than the rest of them do. They are all good shops, but the one closest has my money.
