I can't speak to their claim as I am not familiar with what it is they have a patent on. It could be a process involved with molded holes, I have no idea.

What I do know is that I directly asked one of the factories making carbon rims I source if they could do molded spoke holes and they said that it was not a problem. So, either the factory is mistaken (possible) or the patant is not specifically for molding holes but is about something related to molded holes.
