Yes indeed. I just weighed the steel fork that comes on a Fantom Cross (got frame/fork/crank on CL for $50) and the fork *alone* weighs 1125 grams, which is more than some entire frames! There's no need to be super sensitive about part weights, but geez, that's really excessive.
