I think the weight penalty must be severe. The Brompton ezy wheels are very light being the width of a single bearing; I don't have one handy to weigh but I think they're something like 30g each. I was originally going to put 100mm skate wheels on my brompton but they'd weigh LOTS. What, 120g each? With a rack and 4 fat wheels you're probably at near to a 13kg bike.
ezy wheels work just fine, eight bearings and four inline wheels are a bit redundant/dead weight, unless you are Tony Hawk going 20mph in shopping mode....then bearings make more sense
