Perfect weather for a backpack commuter -- mid 60s (backpack keeps me a little warmer). Low idiot count (nearly zero, amazing!). Also, I tagged along with a pair of roadies for a while in Central Park to check on the calibration of my cyclocomputer. I initially used a variation of the "roll-out method" because there's no "standard" setting for my folder's fancy wheels/tires. Comparing computer numbers showed my number to be reasonably accurate with respect to this roadie's computer.
So now I have a good notion of how far my commute is: about 8.5 miles on the way to work (different route on the way back, but should be roughly the same). Now it's a matter of time before we move Downtown (from Midtown) so the commute distance should increase to about 12+miles before long. It will be nice to get ~120miles of riding per week "for free", so to speak.
