first, i was talking about cracks in the seat tube (caused by over-tightening the seat post binder) that can spread to larger cracks, which could lead to frame failure, could cause someone to fall off their bike.

second, even if was talking about a seat post binder breaking, you really can't imagine a situation where a failure of the thing that keeps the seat tube from sliding in could cause a crash? imagine that a seat post binder cracks in two, then the seat post suddenly slides into the seat tube. would that, in your opinion, be a "safe" event or a "dangerous" event?
