The season opener for Cross Club (The Dirty Randy) had something along those lines: 30 min CX race, 6 laps total. During the first 5 laps if you took the shortcut to avoid the mud pit, you had to do a shot of whiskey and 5 pushups. Some people saw this as an opportunity for free booze and took the shortcut for just that reason. The 6th lap was the "beer lap", where competitors had to chug a can of Rainier before leaving the starting line.
