Sounds like you guys have had some crazy cycling adventures recently... I was just in the Basque region of south-west France/north-east spain doing a little touring while my friend Diva surfed. Its all hills, pretty much, and I was on my track bike with single fixed 49/17, so my legs are done for for a little while. Still it wasa absolutely incredible, probably one of the best places to cycle in the world. Next time I'll need something with gears though. All the french and spanish were cheering me on and saying how ****ing crazy I was to ride a pignon-fixe through the region (all the other bikers were on really hot road rigs with a billion gears and club spandex). I got given lots of free wine water cheese and bread but I didn't really end up taking may pictures (hard to use an old school SLR on the move). Anyways, we're going to Holland in a couple of days but I won't have my bike with me because there won't really be much time to do any riding. On Canada day I'm heading to Grenoble to study for a month and I'm really looking forward to doing some touring through the Alps (may have to borrow a geared bike off someone), and to ride at their indoor velodrome.
