I dunno bout you guys, but I get really out of breath if I try to eat while I ride, unless I slow down to the point that I might as well get off the bike anyway. Aside from that, your average roadside diner has much better menu options than my pockets.
Apparently you haven't been to many diners in Warren and Sussex counties. Some scary food, and sometimes a scary staff.
I'm really not good at riding and pothole avoidance either, but I'm also not a big fan of sit-down breaks. My muscles don't respond well to it.
The Fiddler's ride is more of an adventure, as I've never done it before. Google Maps isn't helping at all with food suggestions, so once we're west of Washington Township it's a mystery to me. I assume there must be
something out there, but I have a penchant for choosing rural, low traffic roads that are often barren of commercial entities.
