When you do trade in your GMC and get a decent bike store bike, I want you to send me a thank-you note.
I agree with what Longbeachgary stated, "I want you to enjoy your bike and I want you to enjoy it for a long time." I haven't owned this bike for more then a week (logged 34 miles in 3 days so far), but plan on riding the heck out of it and doing my best to maintain functionality as for me I got the bike already pre-assembled and thought I would have to adjust it, and tighten it. I'm 5'9" and the seat was already positioned so when I sit on it my downward leg has a slight bend in it and it feels comfortable.
I may need to adjust the bars, but when hands on bars my back is at a 45 degree angle so it feels alright. I was amazed as maybe the person who put this together was within the same height as me. Just speculating, but I think I was lucky, yet was thankful.
I understand now it is just a GMC sticker on the bike, but like seeing it. I know this bike is a Walmart sold road bike and agree that it is a beginner level, but as many have said, "it is a beginner road bike". So it has made it to the level of "road bike". I am OK with that as I see many folks talk about how they have been able to reach 2000 miles + and very minimal adjustments/repairs in stock setup. Yes I agree that all depends on the road conditions and rider habits.
Now after researching many websites and watching many races, I know it doesn't even come close to the big leagues of "name brand" bikes as no one has come publicly forward announcing they are riding the GMC Denali (imagine if you will if someone did and had a positive feedback-where would the level of bike parts and performance be?) whether it is the LTD or Pro as it is in fact like stated all over pretty much all the "GMC Denali" postings it is simply a beginning road bike which to me is a start to a new journey in riding just to ride or commuting or log distance riding events for causes that mean something to the rider.
I do not lay claim to knowing much about bikes and will not claim to, but I will say that I am trying to get fit and live longer and thank Walmart for offering a bike that fits my budget and so far as others have mentioned surpassed its awkward looks it gets on the road or in events. If it is not for you, simply pass it up and spend the bucks for a brand name road bike, but don't knock it until you have tried it and if you have tried it and don't like it, thanks for letting us know.
