At least he followed the driver's handbook for most states and gave you an audible signal before safely passing. He probably spent his recent youth being told by his parents to ride his bike on the sidewalk. Ignorance is kept in generational perpetuity.
Are there really states where the driver's handbook tells you to honk as you overtake a slower vehicle? I can't imagine what purpose that would serve.
