I'm fortunate enough to work in a bike shop. Build cost so far $750, that's including buying the bike in its original configuration.. It will also get a nicer lighter seat soon enough, possibly carbon cranks, possibly fulcrum red metal whatever the top model is in 29er.
Single speed 45x18. 700x35c tyres.
I will add, yes, it sees use as a mtb

single track and flatish stuff mainly. Obviously not going to muck around with too crazy stuff
