Most dogs run about 22mph and so we can assume then OP is slower.
This leads to the conclusion that ZIPPS will not make him faster.

I think of the dogs that give chase, 22mph is on the slow side. Larger dogs (retriever, shepherd types) can pretty easily break 30mph if they are healthy and not elderly. I was once being chased by a little 15 pound mutt on a rural highway and he was keeping up at 25!
