Sent in to the County Public Works Dept:
"I believe Moe Rd/Grooms Rd and Moe Rd/Clifton Park Center Rd intersections are unsafe with the multi- use path crossings there.
When I am riding South on the Multi-Use Path at these intersections, and am crossing with a green light, I have cars threatening to run me over from
3 directions simultaneously.
Here is a picture of the Moe Rd/Clifton Park Center Rd intersection coming South:

The signal is set up to give a green left-turn signal and a green go-straight signal simultaneously. Cars from Clifton Park Center Road can turn right on red onto Moe Road. So when I get my green light to go straight, I have cars on my right on Moe Road turning left (with a green
arrow) across my path, cars going North on Moe Road turning right (with a green light) across my path, and cars from Clifton Park Center making a
right on red across my path. Also the button
path users can push to get a green light is way off the path on the big metal pole; you cannot push it without leaving the path.
The Moe Rd/Grooms Rd intersection coming South is
similar:

The only difference is that the button for requesting a green light is much more accessible from the path. You still have crossing cyclists dealing with cars from 3 directions all turning across the cyclists' path.
Cycling North I can alleviate the problem by leaving the path and 'taking the lane' at these intersections. Going South this option is much less practical, as it involves crossing a lane of opposing traffic twice (once to leave the path and once to return.)
Can anything be done to lessen the conflict here?
And could the push button for getting a green signal to cross with at the Moe Rd/Clifton Park Center Rd intersection be moved so that it is accessible without leaving the path?
Thank you for your consideration"
