For a change of pace I took the Salsa out for a 21 mile dirt and paved road ride. We had a good rain last night, so the dirt roads were softened up a bit making it a little harder to keep my speed up on the uphills. Also I think I erred a little toward comfort vs efficiency when pumping my tires. I could have stood a little more pressure in my rear tire. Then again, once I accepted that the Casseroll just won't ride fast as easily as the much lighter Roubaix, I started to appreciate what a versatile and good riding bike it is. I love being able to turn down any road I see without concern over whether the pavement will end.
