So I had a talk with my parents and checked out the Schwinn that scyclops posted. So now I own one. It definitely feels, rides, and shifts better than the other bikes I've owned. It isn't that heavy either (too me anyway). The only thing is it has trouble shifting into seventh on the rear derailleur and first on the front. But I'm gonna tear it down and rebuild it because I know the inventory guys in the back of Walmart probably didn't put much effort into putting it together. It also says and looks like it has a threadless stem and all the parts look upgradeable.

Also is there any initial maintenance I need to make to the front shock? Is there anyway to make it a little stiffer? I really wish it just had a hard front fork. Any cheap things I should replace asap like cables or the chain?

But anyway, thanks a bunch guys. And thanks for the recommendation scyclops.
