Good on you Syclops, for what Rockr09 needed and his current situation, you helped him choose the best option.
Rockr09: With the shifting problem, it may just need to have the high end adjusting screw on the rear deraileur turned out just a little to give it more travel, and you may have a similar fix for the front. I had a similar situation with the bike I got, which I assembled as it was ordered online from Walmart. I cant help you with the front fork except that if it hasn't got any knobs on the crown that can be adjusted, then you are out of luck. Anyway usually bikes at that price aren't going to come with a front fork that you can adjust for load or sag.
I hope you enjoy your ride, and just replace things if/as they break I wouldn't be too worried about changing anything at the moment.
