Bikes: 2008 Trek Madone 5.5, 2009 Cervelo R3SL tdf edition, Cervelo R5 with Di2

Hit up the Blue Ridge Parkway again (mostly) for a 108 mile ride, 9200 ft of climbs.

Notable features:

1) climb up to the parkway from Vesuvius. This is part of the TransAmerica route, and many cross-country tourists consider this the hardest section of the entire route. I was glad I wasn't carrying a full set of loaded panniers

2) Thunder Ridge climb goes from the lowest point on the Parkway in Virginia (650 ft) to the highest point (3950 ft.) over a 12-mile stretch. Makes for an incredibly sweet downhill!

3) Horseflies!!?!?
