I'm looking in the $1400 range and I would like to have a 105 group set. I'm looking at the Cannondale CAAD10 and they all have Gossamer Pro crank sets. I'm a little confused about this as I would think the cranks would be the most important piece of the group set, and this is the only cog (besides the bottom bracket) that is not 105, which means an almost automatic upgrade in the near future right?
I'm also considering the Trek 2.1, Felt85/75, Giant Defy1.
Can anybody shed some light on the Gossamer and my new bike selection in general? Thanks so much!
the reason the caad has a FSA crank is because it has a BB30 BB and Shimano doesnt make a BB30 crank. there is no reason you would need to upgrade the crank and even if you did i doubt you would be able to tell a difference.
imo this Litespeed M1 w/ Sram Rival would be the way to go for 1400 bucks. it has a carbon frame, full Sram Rival group (imo thats one step above 105) and Aksium wheels.
