i went on a 75 mile group ride with a couple cat 2's, earlier this year, not only did i not ride for a long period of time before this ride, i was also 15 lbs heavier than my racing weight. i survived, because if your even sort of kind of conservative then you can survive. riding at 30 mph isnt that hard when your riding behind someone. riding at 20 mph solo is generally the same as riding 27 mph behind someone with winds around 5 mph.
