I've had my own dismal luck with purchasing cycling shoes online and seemingly NEVER getting a decent fit, resulting in sending lots of shoes back. I simply won't buy cycling shoes online anymore. I'm going to take her into a few of the local shops and have her just try stuff on and see what works. Still, it'd be nice to know if some brands trend wider than others, but I've found most cycling shoes tend to run very narrow which has been an issue for me and I don't have "wide" feet by any stretch.
