Backward thinking. Business is business. They need to earn my trust, not the other way around. Sorry, but that's the way it's been since the dawn of capitalism. I buy from my LBS sometimes, but not all the time. I bring the guys beer on occassion. I chat with them when they aren't too busy. I don't get any special pricing, and I don't expect any. But I will ask for a discount if I'm buying something bigger (wheels for example). They never seem put off by it, and sometimes they give a bit, sometimes not.
