op: You're spending money for no reason. Return the bb or just stash it for a future project, keep the existing cranks, and simply buff off the rust if it's just on the surface and the part is not actually falling apart.
yep, I'll just save the square bottom bracket for the future. the Bracket and crank arms are fine now that i cleaned em up and re-greased em. Also cleaned out my pedals, which are still ****ty but a whole lot cheaper to replace than the arms.
