Anyways, that stupid link on my chain is the source of all my frustration. Like I said, I messed with the front derailluer tension a little and put the wheels back on, tightened handlebar stem, tightened pedals, tightened seat post.
What can I do to fix that stupid noise? I think my chain is an SRAM chain, which is stupid because nothing on my bike is SRAM. Can I just get a new Shimano 9 Speed Chain? Could it be that the link in question is just out of the wrong hole? Can I move it to the other hole? It looks like it's in the smaller hole that makes it too short and that's why it's clunking the cassette. How can I make it stay in the longer hole that makes it like the others?
What about something like this for replacement?
