Chevy and Ford pickups used these well into the 70's. I learned in a 79 Chevy shortbed with a straight 6. These were actually fun until the linkages got some wear and they would jam in 2nd gear.
And I used to drive our dump truck that had a 5 speed on the tree... talk about hunt and peck.
