I might suggest the 500, it is their most recent and less likely to become a "legacy device" like the 705 is now.
+1. I have the 705, ive never used the map feature. Its impossible to get lost where I live. Id rather have the smaller Edge 500, has all the data I need and will still map out your ride on Garmin Connect.
