The first thing I saw this morning was the "Thinking of Beverly" thread

Thanks everyone. I was out riding a couple days of GOBA before the surgery. I had paid for the ride and it was too late to get a refund so I decided the few days of riding would take my mind off the upcoming surgery.
The lumpectomy was yesterday. My doctor had warned me he might need to take a lot of tissue due to the location of the tumor. Thankfully this wasn't necessary. He removed one lymph node and it tested negative for cancer cells. The doctor and nurses in the recovery room indicated this was an excellent sign that it hasn't spread beyond the breast.
The pathology report should be available in a few days and will determine the type of radiation treatments for me. I'm still hoping for the 5 day treatment plan.
I'm starting the suggested exercises for the arm today. They also suggest walking so I guess I'll be lacing on the walking shoes instead of the cycling shoes for awhile. I may go to the Y and check out the stationary bikes. I can ride them with no hands...something I've never been able to do on the road bike
So....I'm just waiting to determine the radiation treatment plan so I can get this episode of my live behind me
