So what was your helmet designed for?

Whether you are designing helmets or standards for testing helmets, the place to start is by making some assumptions about what kind of crash you are likely to have. Then you design a helmet that will minimize the type of injuries that you'd expect from that kind of crash.

A helmet that is designed for skating might coincidentally be quite similar to bicycle helmet or it might not. It might be time to read the small print on the literature that came with your helmet.
