today/tonight i'm building up a "ghetto" single speed MTB right now out of an old specialized hardrock.. actually tearing down would be a better word lol. shifting was rough in the front and not even working in the back so i was like, ok SS time.

Stripped off the shifters and front derailleur, using the rear D for the chain tensioner. if the bike didn't have sugino biopace rip off chainrings i might be able to SS it proper w/o a tensioner but the rings make the tension vary too much.

bought the bike for $35, dont want to spend a dime on it and gonna try to flip it as a ghetto single speed for 80ish..we will see what the market is like for them
