How do you like them? I've contemplated trying some, but the weight, and price always turned me off. Plus I've heard they don't shift real well. I've made the switch to compact on all my bikes. I didn't think I would like it, but I do. Rarely do I feel like I need the 53-11 back.
With close to Northern Europe longest calves I go for everything that can help my dead zones.
Trade of:
no mentionable weight penalty
price
shifting (not a big probl., but decreased) The extra height can make conflict with some brace ons and bottle cages
Your legs velocity increases at the deadzones and might actually give you zero positive 'work' if you can't keep up with the speed
The idea is good, but the effect is far less than one should think.
My positive effect is being able to lower my saddle a tad, making more power on the actual downstroke
If you look at the proble from a different side...The BioPace is a good idea too..Just not the flavor of the month.....
