Gentlemen, thank you!

By the way, I rode my bicycle to work last night. That was after that less than stellar run in the morning. I met a fella on the way who suggested I ride with him, he'd "shepherd" me (the route has heavy car and truck traffic). I agreed, and then felt obliged to at least try to stay on his wheel! For the first four miles or so, it was a struggle, because I wasn't warmed up, but once I got the lactic acid under control and settled down, we flew along at a nice pace: 22 - 26 MPH. That included a few short climbs (5 - 6%, nothing huge). That was what I needed! By the time I got to work, I was thoroughly in the groove and riding well! It was really nice of Tom to do that for me, and I don't even know him!

Now, I have to ride home - and then, the track tomorrow.

Stress? Nerves? Yes, some. I think if I can get warmed up properly, I'll be close to okay!

(Deep breath)....
