I have a similar sentiment about daily cycling. Several years ago I was having lunch with a couple doctors and the discussion turned to the vicissitudes of life, e.g. sudden death, or trivial symptoms that are the harbingers of something serious. The general conclusion was basically to live life to the fullest every day. As we left, the surgeon, a marathon runner said, “Well for me, any day with a run at it is a good day.” I was already a longtime cyclist, but it clicked with me, that any day with a ride in it is a good day for me. That event has prompted me even further to ride daily. Here in Boston we can ride about 360 days a year too.

From a longer-term perspective, I'm pretty happy. In fact, I’m glad to have heard the term, pronoid, “the belief that the world is conspiring for you,” the opposite of paranoid.

By George, I think she’s got it.

I won’t go into detail about my circumstances, but we have dear family friend who is a busybody. Whenever she tries to “advise” me about my lifestyle, my reply is “thanks... but you’ll never meet anybody happier than me.”

I know well that movie, that character, and the film's ending.
