Oh man! That poor little chain looks like it's covered in grinding paste. If you have a chain tool or the chain has a removable link (it appears to be a KMC Z-9000) then take that little fella off of there and do a Sheldon Brown styled ensemble - i.e. shake profusely in a peanut butter jar filled with solvent a few times.
That's bicycle abuse and it's WRONG!!
