Huh - I didn't get that impression, but if that is the objective, stop now. There is no way you'll just break even on this. From a resale point, it's a loser before you started.

You're frame weighs a lot less with the stuff off because the original crank and BB probably weighs 6 pounds or so. Even so, you'll not make a real lightweight out of this - I'm guessing 27-30 pounds is the best you'll be able to do.

If you want to paint it, do it and be happy. They only made like 17 million of these.
