Where you stationed Seven? I spent 3 tours over there... '77 - Taegu, '83 - Suwon, '99 - Kunsan. My last tour I managed to log over 3,000 miles wondering around Kunsan City and the surrounding countryside. At the time we sported up to 13 road riders. With so many riders out at one time, we tended to surprise the nationals. But over time they got used to us. There is some mighty fine road riding over there, I had several friends who mountain biked as well, they all said the off road riding was pretty good too.
The first picture attached is of me and a fellow rider (both of us are now retired will be riding together again this year at RAGBRAI) 20 miles east of Kunsan City on top of a huge hill with a pagoda on top...it was an intensely steep climb. The 2nd picture is about 30 miles north east of Kunsan AB, this was a regular rest stop for us during our every Sunday metric century...it had a lot of good climbs.
Enjoy and welcome to the forums!
