Yeah, that's how stupid people have become. Hurting a person for no other reason than stupidity. But as Bobsled says, I've encountered 3 hoods in Whittier (?) while riding the trail to SB. I noticed three thugs were walking and had a string. My thoughts was "looks like a tool for dismounting cyclist". I sat up as large as possible and started rolling up my sleeves like I'm ready to throw down!

As I approached I shouted "how you doing!". They actually looked pretty timid once they realized I wasn't easy prey. There was an older guy on a hybrid about 1/8 of a mile behind me. I stopped just after I passed the three and waited till he past as well figuring he looked like and easier target for them than my fat arse!

I could have been wrong but better safe than sorry!
