What are the potential 'other variables', would you know? I'm not really training so I haven't got target distances or anything, but I do a lot of different sports during the week.
I did pick up similar advice to yours from a cycling magazine i.e. if the ride isn't particularly long (i.e. the distances I cover) then no off days really required - so I did that, but then this is when the tiredness in the legs kick in? I thought maybe I was doing something wrong by not resting, but maybe not - is it like running, where I just push on and ultimately it will go away?
