I looked over the plans for Bicycle City, it's location, and what's in the greater area. It's got some good possibilities. There is a bus system that could serve it and a car share has recently been started in Columbia. It will have basic retail and recreation on site. It's basically a car light suburb.

Now I would not move my family to such a place because it is a suburb. I don't particularly care for them even when the car issue is reduced. But limited traffic, outdoor park facilities and 'newness' will likely appeal to families. If there is a place for the moms to buy coffee near the playground, it will be a winner.
Rockmom,

I am not the OP of this thread. I suggest you speak to the OP about who intended to pull whose chain by posting the bait:

Sure it is possible that a bus line could serve it, and there may be some families, somewhere who would choose this place instead of a place that actually has any amenities. I posted that car free families would be just like you and NOT consider this place as useful to themselves.

Maybe, one day, one of these car free parents will post about their willingness to plunk down hard cash to move to such an amenity free/transportation free community. Or we might read about somewhere where one family actually moved to this community. Hasn't happened yet and I wouldn't bet with your money that any will.
