I'm new to cycling. Been riding for about 8 months. Didn't know anything about this issue until I started watching cycling on the VS channel a few weeks ago. I've been a competitive athlete my whole life (football, soccer, baseball, rugby, martial arts, racquetball, tennis, running...). I'm having some difficulty grasping the unique formal and informal rules of cycling. Verry different from any other sport I am familiar with.
