I've been having some pretty close calls lately too, I think it is simply because so many more people are out when the weather is nice. The bike paths in particular are almost unusable, so many people walk along the Martin Goodman trail in large groups that it is impossible to get a decent speed up.

Rob, I pm'd you about a bike out west, I think you are still out there but not 100% sure.
